Key defense witnesses were blocked, exculpatory evidence was minimized or excluded, and the jury received instructions that mischaracterized essential elements of the law.

In 2025, as expert review deepened and new disclosures surfaced, the case collapsed under scrutiny -- and the President, guided by the White House Pardon Czar, formally resolved the matter in Carlos' favor. Soon after, the SEC independently dropped its case and all charges, reinforcing what many observers had already concluded.
